About me

My name is Zoë and I am currently employed as Event Assistant in a not-for-profit housing organisation. As an Event Assistant my main roles include: on-the-day running of the evenings including delegate check-in, room and AV set up, creating event guides using Photoshop and InDesign software, creating apps for the events using CrowdCompass software, answering any questions or queries that customers may have regarding our events and the company, and taking care of speaker and staff travel arrangements.

Through having to plan multiple events simultaenously, I have built up strong organisational and planning skills that help me to make the most of my working day. In a fast-paced role my strong organisational skills have enabled me to remain calm under pressure and multi-task to ensure that all my tasks are completed for the day.

I have strong creative skills and am skilled in all Adobe Creative Cloud software including Photohop, InDesign and Illustrator. I have attended various training courses to learn how to use this software, as well as creating event guides and adverts for my current role.

I have experience working with social media, having worked as a social media coordinator for a small music-based business, as well as in my last role working in a B2B marketing company. The main part of my role was to source, create, and organise content for Instagram and Facebook in order to create and maintain a brand image and voice. This challenged me, not only creatively, but also started the journey of understanding social media, SEO and introducing me to new creative and analytics software.

I graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA (Hons) degree in Geography with Advanced Proficiency in French in June 2018. During my time at university I was elected into the role of Creative Director for the University of Exeter Fashion Society. My role throughout those two years included managing and organising a small team of bloggers and creators to write and photograph for the Fashion Society blog, as well as writing a few pieces myself. I have assisted with photoshoots for the Fashion Society by organising shoot schedules, choosing themes and sourcing locations. I also helped to organise the annual charity fashion show at the university which has helped to improve my attention to detail and time-keeping skills immensely. Communication and marketing were big parts of my role as Creative Director. I have had to liaise with local and university-based publications to inform them about the upcoming fashion show and events to encourage them to publicise it, as well as maintain good communication between members of the society.

Throughout all areas of my life I have exhibited and advanced my organisational and time-keeping abilities which I believe would be well-suited to this role. I am excited for the opportunity to develop a personal interest of mine in a challenging and fast-paced environment. I hope to hear from you soon.
