About me

Scott Bowers (BA Hons, PGDipPMR, MPRCA) is a trusted reputation advisor to CEOs, communications and corporate affairs professionals, Boards and household names, with 20 years' experience running award-winning in-house and agency teams. He has featured in the PR Week Power Book numerous times as one of "the brightest and most influential PR professionals in Britain".

Scott runs global reputation strategy and communications firm, SPECTACLE, alongside Richard Conway - the award-winning former BBC Sport journalist turned communications advisor. SPECTACLE supports a range of organisations, brands and individuals operating in sport and entertainment.

He is also a member of the Oxford University-Globescan Global Corporate Affairs Council, a Non-Executive Board Member of the Welsh Rugby Players Association and an Ambassador for the School of Journalism, Media and Culture at Cardiff University.

Previously Scott was Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at one of the UK's largest leisure companies, whose Patron was Her Late Majesty The Queen. The Jockey Club stages several of the nation's biggest events, including the Grand National, the Cheltenham Festival and The Derby, and is also one of Britain's leading music promoters.

Prior to that he was Head of Sport at the world's largest PR agency, Weber Shandwick, where he worked at two Olympic and Paralympic Games and on two bids to host the Games (Sochi and Tokyo), as well as a FIFA World Cup, four UEFA Champions Leagues, a UEFA Euros and a Rugby World Cup.

Before this he supported a range of blue-chip brands on their corporate reputation internationally, including Mastercard, Coca-Cola, L'Oréal, De Beers, Pernod Ricard, RBS Group, Philips and General Motors.

Scott regularly judges the PR Week Awards, Sport Industry Awards and Leaders Sport Awards (where he was awarded Leaders Under 40 himself) and has lectured on communications at Warwick University, the International Olympic University, the Centre for the International Business of Sport and the School of Journalism at Cardiff University. He is an alumnus of the University of Oxford's Corporate Affairs Academy.
