About me

I currently work as an online editor with Sweet & Maxwell. This role involves working across two highly regarded online websites (Westlaw UK and Lawtel) that provide specialist legal information to law firms and practitioners. I work in the legislation department and on a day-to-day basis; interpret and update legislation, track the progress of new legislation whilst undertaking proofing of documents. I also record and consolidate amendments, meet daily and weekly deadlines, edit and interpret complex data, monitor both websites for quality assurance whilst managing individual areas as delegated throughout the team and accomplish the required level of self management of priorities and work load. I train and monitor the work of assistant editors and have developed staff training sessions. I also contribute to new product development and product improvement initiatives. For example I was chosen to be a member of a team that worked to improve the Westlaw UK service. Since its launch in October 2006 the usage of the new Westlaw UK has increased greatly. I have an analytical and logical mind with a high level of concentration and attention to detail whilst being extremely accurate. I can solve complex problems, multi-task and have good time management and organisation skills. I have gained a vast amount of experience working with HTML and content management system. In addition I am proactive, customer focused and have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
