ABOUT

Dark Heartwood Miniatures is the brainchild of sculptor and artist Tom Rush, aka Creaturehut. The figures are digitally sculpted, 3d printed, copies are moulded and cast, then hand painted by Tom in his studio.

Working on this project with Tom was a great opportunity to collaborate and create a cohesive set of atmospheric images that would help to showcase his amazing work.

I also took the opportunity to create a portrait with Tom. I've always loved horror comics from the 1950's, and this was a good chance to make something that had that look and feel to it. A portrait is only as good as the subject, and it's great to work with someone who is as into it from the start, as you are.
