ABOUT

This project's goal was to drastically speed up the process of designing, modeling and rendering a creation based on an existing automobile. For this endeavour I picked the famed 190 Evo II from Mercedes-Benz. I wanted to do something drastic, a midship V8 supercar. Starting with the racing model of the Evo II, I shortened the wheelbase by a few centimeters, chopped the roof for a more aggressive look and redesigned the platform into a 2 door coupe to accommodate a high-mounted Cosworth V8. I finished it with brand new aero, a red carbon fiber body and retro-inspired wheels with turbofans.

I designed the new body to be impossibly aggressive. The front grill is now about 150% its usual size and is used for cooling and downforce. A huge cutout on the hood functions as an outlet for an invisible spoiler mounted where the top of the engine used to be. The front bumper was redesigned to fit the new grill and to let massive amount of airflow get underneath the car for cooling the V8 beast. Additional air intakes are located on the sides to feed the engine. The rear was spiced up with a simple yet imposing diffuser, a new rear wing configuration and a silver trim over the new taillights which evokes the current S-Class.
