About us

We believe a company isn’t built on a set of values alone. Values help to give a broad focus, and help spotlight an aspiration for everyone in the company – irrespective of their role – to want to do the very best for us, our clients and themselves. But we have lived by more than just that goal for nearly 18 years; through two tough recessions, through feast and famine and countless fashions and fads.

We have, in all that time, never strayed from our overarching mission that was crystalised on that very first day of mcm back in 2001.

mcm this year celebrates its 17th anniversary – Our Founder, Neil Crespin had worked extensively in broadcasting and journalism, specialising in radio. There he learnt the art of storytelling – often needing to get a story live on the air in just minutes - other times with a more considered editorial approach.

This storytelling skill was what prompted the forming of the company back in 2001. Having moved into the corporate world, Neil identified that there were plenty of creative production companies, but very few were offering the important link between content and creativity. It was then the mission of the agency to close that gap and give corporate communications more meaning and purpose but still having fun along the way!

From the outset we have always had great people and the best equipment to help us do that. We wanted to create a genuine ‘under-one-roof’ approach for clients to work with us. We quickly invested in film, having our own edit suites in-house and cameramen and editors on staff.

The company however is more than just a group of creative people, being creative! Our whole operation is underpinned with robust, best-in-class, systems and processes. Driven by our Managing Director, who joined the business in 2009 with a clear focus to make sure our creativity was matched with procedures that the large businesses we trade with were engaged with, so-as not just to rely our great ideas!

Our expertise lies in Events (Conferences, Exhibitions, delegate networking solutions, product launches, leadership events, award ceremonies and experiential activities), Film (product showcase reels, event highlight films, vox pops, conference content, internal communications films, promo adverts & photography) and Digital (Apps, website build & design, registration systems and polling).

Over the past 17 years we have grown from 4 people to 24 today. Our team is also supported daily by regular Freelancer’s that have worked with us for many years and are familiar with our clients, staff and internal processes and procedures.

Everyone gets to contribute across all aspects of the business and our new open plan offices allow for levels of interaction that is critical in todays multi-layered work environment.

Along the journey we have worked for many of the biggest names on the High Street in the retail sector, we’ve planned, executed and retained work with some of the biggest financial institutions in the City and helped put sports based companies at the front of the grid, year after year.

Our current view on the market we operate in has only reinforced some of our initial aims; Great people managing great clients with a level of customer service and satisfaction that is industry leading. We have developed good people into great people and have grown some of our key accounts organically, through great work too.

We have managed to achieve the relatively rare ‘agency balance’ of creativity and practicality, ensuring that our client teams are focussed on, not just bringing client content alive in the most engaging way, but also doing it on-time, on-budget and on-brand.

It was our ambition for mcm creative group to be a key player in the marketing communications space. We have definitely achieved that, as we approach our 18th year of ‘inspire and admire’
