About me
An accomplished Public Relations, Media and Brand Executive with 26 years professional working experience. Well known for my ability to think strategically, meet, achieve and exceed customer and project objectives.
I possess experience of marketing, brand creation, lead generation, channel partner cultivation and customer service. Furthermore, as an effective communicator with high impact presentation skills, I can expertly launch communications and branding campaigns across digital, social, print media and activations.
Whilst focusing on the job, I am able to keep my eye on the horizon, growing and adapting organically to the environment that I am placed in. My proven track record of responsibility, integrity and commitment to company and client objectives has allowed me to be innovative in unlocking success. It is my strong belief that the detail lies in the execution, focus and timing.
My leadership style is based on mutual respect, honest communication and trust, whilst keeping an eye on the bottom line. I maintain a strong work ethic and governance and have a healthy competitive attitude and thrive under pressure.

- My career started at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) as a Public Relations Practitioner managing internal and external communications. An internal transfer to 5FM Music Radio granted me greater exposure and valued media, marketing and promotions experience.
- Following 6 successful years at the SABC, I joined a consumer licensing company where I honed business development skills as an Account & Sales Executive resulting in the pitching and securing of international licensing contracts, including Saban Internationals' Digimon.
- In 2001 I took up an Operations Manager role focusing on event production, marketing collateral development and supplier management until 2004 when I relocated to Port Elizabeth. Here I took up a contract position as an Events & Media Manager for Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism which led to the opportunity to establish a Port Elizabeth branch for East London based 2Boyz Advertising.
- The successful launch and growth of this branch led to the forming of TIC Advertising in a 50% partnership. Here, with an ethos to think, inspire and create I successfully landed key contracts and fulfilled in the company's sales, client service and team management requirements as Business Development & Account Director.
- On relocating to Johannesburg in 2012, I formed Abstract7 through which I successfully delivered project work in communications, corporate identity, brand collateral development and production.
- This steered me to a Plato Communications where, after contracting as a PR Account Manager from 2014, I took up a permanent position as PR Business Unit Director in 2015 and was promoted to Strategy & Operations Director in 2017 and Managing Director in 2019. Along with high level client and agency integration, I proudly lead a Consumer PR team that delivered award winning campaigns for SA's leading consumer and FMCG brands.
My experience shows that I can identify the image that each client visualizes for its brand, and I can be responsible for the creative direction of the concept from start to finish, delivering a marketing and communications product that will serve the client in both a digital and a physical environment.
I am particularly proud of the client feedback I have received throughout my career and in the branding satisfaction they have experienced in working with myself and my team of professionals.
