About me
Careyann Weinberg has proudly helped create, develop and brand many projects during her professional career. Careyann is currently leading the new Selden Market (seldenmarket) project for Downtown Norfolk Council. Previously, she was hand-selected to concept and run an exhibition space and venue as the Executive Director for Work | Release () and served as the Interim Executive Director for the Norfolk Art District (NEON), a creative and thriving neighborhood in Downtown, Norfolk, Virginia. She has worked as a freelance consultant and producer for a variety of creative projects and with Alchemy Underground, an independent firm bridging the gap between creatives and their community through practice and programming that embraces relevant art and culture. She uses creative curation, active involvement and influencer outreach to develop social, capital and emotional investment in communities. Careyann has an undeniable passion for the arts and creative culture. She's curated, managed, directed and produced countless exhibitions, public art programming and large scale events including Art | Everywhere, pop-up MOCA galleries, First Fridays, NEON Festivals and the Norfolk Better Block. She is an active member in Re:Vision Norfolk and throughout the community, helping lead policy shifts such as the designation of creative districts, urban parking improvements, food truck regulations and light rail initiatives. She holds a bachelor's degree from Virginia Wesleyan College. While Careyann has an incredibly broad and proficient skill set, she enjoys and excels at production and creative direction. She is an industry "go-to" in Norfolk and abroad for unique marketing solutions and high profile events.
