About me
I am an enthusiastic, creative, outgoing individual prone to mild eccentricity (all time hero Spike Milligan), my ambition is to work within the production environment. To that end I have successfully completed college productions working as part of a team, my roles have included; Production/location manager, director, and scriptwriter.
Working for Ruby films offices in Green Park, I gained experience of the pre-production side of the industry including compiling lists of authors whose work could potentially be made into film.
Working alone I scripted, filmed and edited an advertisement for the Hockcliffe Street Baptist Church (Leighton Buzzard) which was shown in local post offices and via a church link in Israel and America.
In 2006 I helped students at Westminster University as a Production Runner working with 16mm film which I enjoyed immensely; my main task was to aid the DOP in the setup of the location, logging shots by type, lens used, duration and action.
I have always had a keen interest in Japanese cinema; I am currently learning the language, my favourite Japanese director is Akira Kurosawa, although I also enjoy the films of controversial director Miike Takeshi.
To summarise I would like to become a runner because I eat breath and sleep film. Having gained 'ad hoc' experience, I now wish to consolidate and extend this, in order to pursue a career in the film industry.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Jon Gibbs
