About me

I am a Senior Project Manager with over 8 years experience in the
multimedia software industry, half of which in an Agile environment,
managing teams ranging from 4 persons over a 2-week period, to 70+
people over 146-week period. I have worked with multi-disciplinary
teams of designers, artists, programmers and QA engineers; ensuring
releases are delivered in a timely manner, to a high standard and on
budget. Through the management of simultaneous projects, I have gained
an in-depth knowledge of initial budget estimates, resource management
and cost control. In order to achieve the specified quality outlined, I
have often had to rely on the implementation of performance indicators
such as defect tracking, user feedback and benchmarks.

On larger projects, I have acted as the Line Manager of the area
leads and production team. I have concentrated heavily on ensuring
every member of staff is equipped with the tools necessary to perform
and deliver. This has included but has not been limited to, removing
impediments placed by management, other teams and clients, conducting
appraisals and identifying training needs. I also have a history of
growing project teams rapidly (internal and external candidates) while
ensuring employee satisfaction and retention. I have achieved this
through being committed to the teams and the projects, but also through
transparency, strong leadership and a personable attitude.

In addition to the regular duties associated with project and team
management, I have extensive experience negotiating contracts with
vendors from all disciplines, some of which were based on SLAs. They
have included onsite/offsite C++ programmers, a web development team
working in PHP and Python and art houses generating assets in Photoshop
and Maya/3dsMax. In addition to building internal and external
relationships, I have spent a great deal of time and energy ensuring
these relationships are well maintained and managed. I approach
stakeholder management with a similar level of commitment to that
demonstrated for the project and my team. This commitment is evidenced
by regular project updates and gated presentations targeted at the
desired audience.

I am a person who has grown through wearing many different hats in
project management: change manager, project owner, scrum master, user,
stakeholder and contributor. I have had to demonstrate a high level of
adaptability and a can do attitude.
