ABOUT

The capitalist mindsets and the economies of scale had ensured the growth of many booming cities like Mumbai. We see the skyscrapers, we never see those humans and the hands that made them. We never ask the people how they are and how they made the city what it is today. Human rights' discussion falls short to highlight such surface-level ignorant attitudes. for them, a 'Dialog' is nothing but an interior monologue that finds its outlets through the countless beats of their tools grinding against each other.

'Dialog' brings the story of the migrant workers working in the city of Mumbai, a land of dreams. It is unfortunate that the residents of a country are called 'migrants' in the land of his father and his own self.

This film tells a poignant tale of our struggles, as we learn to win it every day in this beautiful dream called Mumbai. Dialog is pure music at its best, the heckles, rants, and spats of the street vendors form its lyrics. The instruments and beats are composed out of close recording samples of the various tools that these workers use.
Their perseverance beats the uncertainties that their lives entail. Their relentless zeal never lets the city sleep. In the end, these voices are drowned in the multitudes of hopes with which a wave of newer folk arrives in the city.
The fluidity of the music percolates through the visuals of the musical film. Like the existential ebbs and tides of our crisis, the visuals never settle and keeps on surprising you until it haunts like a 'lore!

No instruments were used in the making of this track!

Souvik Chakraborty was the producer and director of this widely appreciated short.
