Hello,
I am Sakshi S Mathur. I have graduated with a Bachelors of Arts (Hons) in 3D New Practice from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts NAFA, Singapore in July'17.
You will find my portfolio here... . It houses all my work from my time at NAFA and my CV. My main strength is in conceptualising my work, backed with in-depth research, basic sketches and 3D visualisations. I am extremely comfortable rendering on Rhino & Keyshot and know the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc) very well.
In 2015, I interned with Danovel Pvt Ltd in Singapore, where I was required to interact with clients on a day to day basis, and understand their needs and tastes. I also interned with Koan Digital in Bangalore, where I was tasked with designing content for various social media platforms, producing content for fashion and TV brands. I enjoy producing original content, be it original designs for clients or noticing day to day problems and solving them. I would like to share some of my projects:
1. I worked on a project using the traditional techniques of Channapatna, a dying handicraft in southern India. The idea was to channel the beautiful lacquerwork techniques into products that speak to a discerning urban buyer who appreciates the modern translation of traditional craft. To understand the nuances, I went down to the village and spent time one on one with the artisans. I choose to create a bar set, with the traditional colours and techniques.
2. My final year project was a rain-inspired Bluetooth lamp Aura. It projects calming shadows onto walls optimally designed to unwind and destress after a long day. It also comes with an inbuilt Bluetooth speaker. By using an Arduino board, I was challenged to understand coding and do the wiring/ soldering myself.
3. Using the concept of colour relativity, I designed a unique series of teacups. Inside each porcelain cup is a series of steps, and red underglaze that is differently placed. Visually, this affects the colour of the tea when poured into the cup, adding a new dimension to drinking tea.
I believe, with my skills, design sense and my ability to creatively solve problems, I would be a great asset to work with.
