Penguin Student Design Award 2016 entry. The breif was to design a new 'Clockwork Orange' cover for a new generation of readers, avoiding the obvious clichés.

The cover artwork is a combination of iconic elements from Kubrick's film adaptation of Burgess' book. White female figure was inspired by Ancient Greek sculptures and the ones found in Korova Milk Bar. Breasts are emphasised by the most iconic visual of 'A Clockwork Orange', which is Alex's eyelash. The way it's cutting through the body represents the violence element of the story.
