About me

This is Chihhsuan Yu, an interaction and product designer, now is an interaction designer intern at frog design.

I have previously completed my bachelor and master degree in Industrial design at National Cheng Kung University and worked as an UX/UI designer at Alibaba for two years. Through these experience, I'm not only well-versed at different types of design research methods and tools, but also proficient at product design, mobile UX/UI design, and IoT service design.

Firstly, I have rich experience and knowledge about how to analysis and integrate business strategy and user needs to design feasible products through qualitative research (focus group, customer journey map, persona, etc) and quantitative approach (back-end data feedback, big data analysis, A/B test, etc).

Besides, I was the UI constituter at Xianyu team (the innovative department at Alibaba Group) for constituting the UI principle and UI animation. In the other words, I'm very proficient in digital prototyping tools (Sketch, Principle, Hype 3, Origami, etc), iOS/Android design guideline, and the trend of UX/UI design and computer science.

Furthermore, based on my product design background, I'm also pretty skilled in tangible product design and prototyping tools, such as Solidworks, laser cutting, and 3D printing. Besides, I'm really fascinated with IoT field, I usually use Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and VVVV software to build a functional prototype.

Last but not least, as a designer, I'm most interested in questions, not the solutions, since all the problems were once called solutions. From my opinion, dissecting the problem from different perspectives and proving the solution by prototyping repeatedly is always the crucial path to create something really innovative.
