About me
I am passionate about film making, documentaries and gaming. My previous experiences and interests have honed me to develop skills in editing, filming, producing and directing videos and to appreciate a broad variety of genres.
My time at the University of Portsmouth taught me vital general skills, such as public speaking and teaching/explaining technical tasks and subjects to peers, as well as learning practical and technical skills such as editing techniques, image manipulation, web design, camerawork and the processes of filmmaking.
During my time at University I also conducted various freelance work such as editing the Health and Safety video for Parsons Brinckerhoff, and multiple events videography.
I have since worked at BSkyB as an On Demand Scheduler, enhancing my skills in time management, working under pressure, teamwork, and communicating and explaining new systems and software clearly to colleagues.
I spent 3 months living in Japan in 2011, and spent a year living and working in Barcelona teaching English, creating websites for clients, and also undergoing an Internship in Documentary Filmmaking. This has been an integral part of my progression as it has taught me the importance of learning, understanding and appreciating various languages and cultures. I believe strongly that understanding various languages and cultures allows you to understand yourself to a greater level, and I believe that implementing this knowledge into your creative work is essential to growing and succeeding.
After this, I worked at the BBC as a Transcriber and Live Studio Runner on the One Show before returning to Barcelona to spent a year as a Camera Operator and Video Editor for a Yoga company. I then spent 6 months as a Junior Graphic Designer for a Sports Media Broadcasting company in London before returning to Barcelona to become Freelance both in Spain and England.
