I completed a graphic design course at Shillington College in the latter part of last year, taking three months off from my career as a live-in-carer to attend full-time at the Manchester campus. Shillington College gave me a solid foundation of knowledge, whilst the flexibility of my career has given me the chance to build on it.
I am currently completing self-initiated projects to build on my student portfolio, as well as volunteering as the graphic designer for the Manchester University Neuroscience magazine 'Signal'. This is particularly relevant to my skill set as I completed a Neuroscience degree from Nottingham University in 2012. My role within Signal has just begun, but I am finding it incredibly rewarding being able to combine these two interests.
