2016 marked the 100th anniversary of the most important week in Irish history – the Easter Rising, an armed insurrection in Ireland during Easter Week, April 1916.

2016 also marked the 100th anniversary of Ireland’s first ever radio broadcast, the proclamation of an Irish Republic transmitted in the middle of the rebellion.

To mark the event we took over every major radio station in Ireland, simultaneously broadcasting exactly the same message, for exactly the same length, on exactly the same date, at exactly the same time - exactly one hundred years later.
But radio could only tell part of the story, so we created a campaign microsite as a way of expanding the story, giving more background context and educating the user through a fully immersive design.
