Louis Holder Film Director

ABOUT

Cinema Now | Official Crowdfunding Video - Now Crowdfunding on #Indiegogo

The latest production from filmmaker & multimedia artist Louis Holder, is a quiet protest - a meditation on the times; past, present and future.

Cinema Now is an experimental documentary film, shot entirely on Super 8mm celluloid film, depicting many of London's closed cinemas from the point of view of their exteriors in and amongst the cityscape. Shot and presented in the 'Direct Cinema' style, this short provides an uncompromising and introspective look at what happened to cinema(s) over the past year.

Furthermore, the film will be anchored by numerous voices (of everyday people; workers, cinema-lovers, film enthusiasts...) who provide intimate commentary about what cinema means to them, how them being closed has affected them personally, and a personal recollection of their memories going to and being in them.

The filmmakers ultimately hope that the film provides an opportunity for self-guided reflection and contemplation and that the message of the importance of cinema(s) existing, enduring and surviving the future remains ever-present.

The film is also one of Louis' final Masters (MA) Thesis productions; and we need your help to fund its post-production and distribution to ensure its completion.

We're grateful for any contributions, big or small. If you're unable to back the film at this time - sharing and posting about the project on social media is appreciated.
