About me
Why do I want to work in the television and film industry
To be honest, after leaving university I had absolutely no idea which route I wanted to take into production. So I found a job where I could expand the entirety of my skill set, as well as learning more. I spent a year and a half as a media production executive in a small company (Appleton Digital Learning), where I handled every single part of the production process from initial concept to client delivery. One minute I would be writing out call sheets for a shoot, and then the next I would be editing together an E-learning course.
Previous to this, I produced a ten-minute film documenting 75 years of the history of Citizen's Advice and summarising their celebratory conference. As I was the sole person working on the project, I completed all steps of production including pre-production, creating graphical content, as well as editing the piece together within a short and high-pressured time scale.
Whilst all this was going on, I also had a number of other roles. This included working as a dailies runner in corporate and television environments, as well as working in customer service roles. This has given me a wide variety of skills which I can bring to any job - including my unwavering need to always be busy doing any task that needs doing.
I learnt so much about the production process from the projects I have worked on. However, I am now looking for an opportunity that will help to take my career to the next level. And hopefully prove I'm not crazy for trying!
