About me

In September I am moving to London with the hope of getting a job within a publishing/media industry. I graduated from Liverpool University with a degree in English and Communications, I developed an interest in publishing whilst at university stimulated by my degree course which encouraged me to delve deeply into communications. As I have already stated publishing is an area that draws me; however the book world can be somewhat staid and limiting. Application within the world of newspapers and magazines appears to offer far more scope and opportunity, which excites my imagination and motivates me to apply for positions such as this. Whilst studying A Level Information Technology, one of the modules required was the production of a short magazine, I thoroughly enjoyed this task; I chose to include a feature page on fashion but had to produce an eclectic mix. I found this challenging, as I had to produce the graphics with consideration to appearance and content. Again this encouraged my interest in publishing. The skills I have acquired include telephone communications, problem solving, multi tasking and working under pressure. I am ICT literate, type quickly and accurately, used to working with spreadsheets on various systems and I can find my way round the internet. On a personal level I am a good time-keeper and get along well with others. I enjoy working independently or as an enthusiastic team player. I have a highly organised, professional approach to work.
