About me

Having graduated from a degree in textiles design and surface pattern design I am looking to join a fruitful design led environment where I can impart my creativity, enthusiasm and design values. I have an awareness of both colour and shape, which I hope to exercise productively on a daily basis.

Creatively, I work a lot in hand drawing and painting as an instant production of any repeat or colour way ideas I have. With this I am able to benefit from having a large reference of my own designs both starting motifs and full repeat samples to draw upon. As well as personal design references I am also an admirer and collector of many past printed visual references. Vintage woven textiles pieces and unique vintage jewellery shapes with wild enamel paint finishes - all which I refer to more often than not to when thinking about any new projects. This weakness for all that is visual from the early to mid twentieth century, does fuel most projects I embark on though I am comfortable addressing any audience.

Over the past four years I have pursued freelance opportunities whilst steadily developing my professional portfolio. Most recently, this past year amongst other things I have complete two commissions, one consisting of three pocket square designs and the other of four textiles repeats soon to launch as a collection for female fashion design label, 'Tara Starlet'. The very old and very new both interest me - this passion is a hotbed for my creativity and eye for design curating.

I feast on a constant intake of visual language from my environment and personal research.

I'm coming direct from a period of freelancing and Interning which has seen me work within fast moving commercial fashion textiles studio 'Pattern Ltd' and for organic and tradition lead design studio 'House of Gharats' - during my time at 'House of Gharats' I will be illustrating a self-lead collection of silk scarves. Soon to come!

My design education has become my career path and I now want to focus my passions on enriching the environment around me. Being a part of a visual lead company would see great things come of my ideas and values.
