ABOUT

The Artist in B&W
What determines surrealism in photography? Is it deciding what to put in or, perhaps what to leave out of your frame? Surrealism is said to free one's imagination by a creative process unencumbered by conscious control. The importance of the 'unconscious' is central to the nature of surrealism in the fine arts. What is it that I wish my viewers to appreciate from my photographs – shall I render visual 'information' or, do I hope to 'communicate' through the obvious lack of content within my images?
For example, a kiddies playground without children clinging to swings and slides remains a playground. As the author, my intention in this ‘particular’ collection is to alter the way people ‘see’ their everyday surroundings. I've purposefully discounted visual content to invite you the viewer to entertain your interpretation – My treatment is to make the 'ordinary', look extraordinary!
* What is it that you wish to see..?
* If you know what's 'missing' then you've 'seen' what you've imagined...
