The Artist in B&W
‘travel’ | noun (journey/travels) a period of time spent travelling from one place to another, typically over long distances and/or cross-country/off-road…
Ralph Waldo Emerson is often credited with the following: “Life is a journey, not a destination.” Aug 31, 2012
Similarly, shooting the journey is possibly more challenging than photography at your destination. It often sets the mood of what you intend capturing on arrival—travelling along gravel and dirt roads wakes that raw creativity within. The dust on your tongue evokes ones need to approach more intimately; you taste it, smell it and it gets into your pores! It’s great being out in the centre of somewhere or, the middle of nowhere getting down, dusty and dirty. Shooting Black & White makes it all the more intense!
