ABOUT
The Greek word ekklēsia, which came to mean C H U R C H, originally referred in the Classical period to an official assembly of citizens. In the Septuagint (Greek) translation of the Old Testament (BCE), ekklēsia is used to denote the general assembly of Jewish people, especially when gathered for religious purposes, such as hearing Hebrew Law. In the Bible’s New Testament, it refers to the entire body of believing Christians throughout the world. As for me, it goes deeper than that when you experience the CHURCH’s heartbeat. I trust my collection of photographs reveals the mood of this pulse/...
