ABOUT

STAATLICHES MUSEUM FÜR ARCHÄOLOGIE | CHEMNITZ (DE) | 2014

The time-dynamic model of Saxony, a large kinetic installation at the State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz (smac), was designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER and developed by TMS in collaboration with MKT and Focus 4. The kinetic landscape model connects the foyer with the three exhibition floors. Every hour, a show starts playing, in which the model moves vertically over the height of the building's open atrium. The innovative film production subtly choreographs the development of Saxony from a natural to a cultural landscape. The sound supports the journey through 300,000 years of history emotionally and atmospherically.
