ABOUT
As generative AI continues to infiltrate our world and big tech try to sell us the narrative that it’s solving all our “problems”, I want to turn your attention to where these machine learning technologies are truly solving problems, truly useful and truly having a profound human impact, welcomed by medical professionals under immense stress and strain trying to figure out some of biology’s biggest questions.
Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation fund high-risk, high-reward cancer research, enabling young scientists who are brilliant, brave and bold enough to go where others haven’t.
I had the immense privilege of creating their key visual for their 2024 report on “What will AI mean for Cancer Research?”: using AI to assess cancer risk, detect cancer earlier and inform treatment decisions. I wanted a visual that echoed their bold, innovative mission and create an illustration that has a long lasting impact, just like their young scientists trying to change the world.
