About me

Joy Geldard-Smith is a screenwriter specialising in romantic comedies.

She spent 20 years working in IT, mostly project management, which has given her transferable skills of prioritising, dealing well with pressure and understanding how crucial a deadline is.

A believer in lifelong learning, she continues to study at Screenwriting U, having completed the ProSeries in 2016. She has worked alongside local producers and community groups on a range of projects, from thrillers to musicals.

She has also worked as a community journalist for charity, highlighting the difference that funding has made to the lives of people 'on the edge' of poverty.
