ABOUT

This was a great mobile project I worked on with the team at Territory Studio for a classic sci-fi universe that should be obvious to most people on the planet. I explored a range of styles inspired by the different films and their evolving UI language.

I was genuinely pleased that the final direction leaned towards the classic 70s and 80s aesthetic. It retained the very distinct, bold and minimal style seen in the original trilogy, while modernising it slightly. The interfaces in the original films were created using analogue technology, long before computers could generate this kind of design, which gives the work a real sense of craft.

It was a fun project, and it is always interesting to work on something you loved and watched as a kid on VHS.
