ABOUT

CHALLENGE
The Royal British Legion were faced with a challenge; the nation knew that by supporting the Royal British Legion, they honoured the fallen soldiers of the past, but not that they supported the modern veterans of today. We needed to show the country the two sides to the Legion.

SOLUTION
We created a unique photo series that became the centre of the entire Poppy Appeal integrated campaign. On one side, famous photographs of soldiers taken during the First World War, on the other, meticulous recreations using veterans of today.

RESULTS
It was the Royal British Legion’s most successful Poppy Appeal in history, raising £40m in donations. The photographs were displayed at the official Two Minutes of Silence in Trafalgar Square, featured at the Festival of Remembrance in front of the Royal Family, and became a major exhibition at the National Media Museum.
