Dear Sir/Madam,
Staging and producing quality events is a true passion of mine and I believe I possess the knowledge and professional skills required for this position. My experience producing live and electronic music events/festivals both here and around the world for many years fits the demands of the role.
You will see from my CV that I have been Creative Director and headed production on several major events. Earlier this year I returned from Kenya after 5 years, having founded "The Rift Valley Festival" and bringing the concept of the European three day festival format to East Africa for the first time. Now the biggest international music and cultural event in East Africa the festival has received global recognition via press, TV and online. This role demanded knowledge of all areas of event production from drawing board to event delivery, budgets, site mapping, lighting, design, sound, H&S, licensing and managing huge crews, so I know I can deliver what's required with confidence and to the brief for this position.
I have also just completed a successful contract as Event/Operations Manager with Bluebell Tents at major UK festivals during 2015. This involved dealing with logistics, build & break, customer service, crew welfare and working closely with festival production offices and teams to solve problems as or if they arose.
During my career I have also been General Manager of very successful bars, restaurants and clubs, leading highly motivated and passionate teams. Working in this field has given me comprehensive knowledge of P&L, budgets and payroll.
I am now based back in London and looking for an event management position within an ambitious company, so I would love the chance to discuss this position further in person.
