Sleeve Designs

Dj, producer and long term client, Will Clarke, is currently flying with numerous tours in the US with the Dirty Bird label. As a thank you for the loyal fans he wanted to release some free remixes, so dropped me a brief for the sleeve designs.

With previous release names such as Spandex, it should have come as no surprise that the remixes would be named the 'Bearded Booty Rerubs'. With that title, and since they were from Will who has a very big beard, it was only logical 'the beard' should feature. We had been using a great profile shot as part of his press kit and Will had stated in the brief he wanted it to be fun, not too serious. So armed with the Wacom it was time to get doodling.

Initially temptation took over and Will's face was soon heavily abused. However, after stripping back the facial jewellery and creatures living within his beard we were left with a cleaner series of hair and beard styles. Each track would adopt one style and a highlight colour. As a token of appreciation to the producer of the original track their name also featured in a cute heart tattoo.

To date one remix has been released and featured on Annie Mac Presents site and radio show. The second was snapped up and signed by Defected before it could even be released! But the remaining designs are ready and waiting until required.
