About me
I am writing to apply for the position of Social Media/Digital Strategist, as advertised on the Creative Pool website.
I have been working for the last three years for an international higher education provider in the digital marketing team, and have worked hard to progress through the ranks. I now head up the organisation's social media activity as Social Media Manager, managing a team of two in the head office.
This position requires me to have both a creative flair and an analytical approach to our social activity. I'm responsible for developing our global social media strategy and calendar, while also demonstrating through analytics the impact that our online presence has on the organisation's business objectives.
I developed the organisation's social media and content strategy to meet goals which support the recruitment of international students. All social media activity feeds into the cross-team, integrated content calendar which has been developed in-line with the student journey. Our content production and messaging supports all stages of the recruitment cycle - from lead capture to generation, conversion and post-conversion.
I have developed and overseen marketing campaigns on Instagram to build a library of UGC and identify brand influencers and advocates (check out #hellointo); led online Q&A sessions to capture and generate new leads; and coordinated an international filming schedule to produce a series of videos about our alumni students. I am currently working on a new blog strategy to increase our SEO value and audience retention.
Working in a corporate environment which is recruitment and sales focused environment has meant that I'm capable of working to clear targets, and can analyse and articulate data-driven results to key stakeholders. I track and measure social KPIs through tools such as Google Analytics, UTM parameters and GA Goals.
At the end of November I'll be starting a 7-month intensive Postgraduate Diploma in Direct and Digital Marketing with the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM). I decided to start a PG Diploma in this field to continue my professional development and expand my knowledge of marketing in both online and offline spaces. I'm really looking forward to starting the course and applying new professional practices to my work.
I hope you'll agree that my background in content production and digital marketing experience across multi-channel campaigns favours me as a candidate for this role. I would love the chance to bring my expertise and enthusiasm to the team, and I hope that you will consider me for this position.
Sincerely yours,
Kate Standing
