Hi Spacebar,

I viewed your web designer vacancy through Creative Pool, and I would like to apply for this role. I'm a recent graduate from the University of Lincoln where I've been studying Interactive Design, with the expressed interest of moving into digital design based roles and front end web development.

My previous 3 years of university studies have led me to design for web based formats using coding languages HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, XHTML XML, Javascript and frameworks such as Jquery and Wordpress. I have graphic/digital design based skills using my preferred design tools - Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator.

Previous projects of mine have worked with a wide area of web technology, including but not limited to responsive websites, graphic user interfaces, parallax scrolling, mobile websites, CS3 animation, interactive games and processing animations. I've also had the opportunity to work with innovative technologies that can be manipulated to change how we see and view the web, such as Leap Motion, Oculus Rift, Arduino technologies and Makey Makey.

I've also taken part in various university projects outside of my studies, such as various design projects for members of staff within the University, involvement with the cross-course design workshop 'Co_lab' (where I worked as part of team to create an improved Virtual Learning Environment for our university) and attended an art and design conference and various workshops in Liepaja - Latvia.

Aside from my university work, I have had the opportunity to work as a freelance web and graphic designer for a variety of different projects, which has taught me valuable skills in time management, project organisation, payment methods and skills related to running my own business.

Within my freelance work I have also worked with a variety of charities to help them create a web presence and assist them with creating promotional materials. Charities including Enactus and TripsUK. Along with this I have been able to design and manage my own web portfolio to showcase my work and implement a blog of my current work activities.

I am an eager individual with a desire to keep improving my web based skills and educate myself on the latest design tools and programs available. I can organise my own projects and working hours effectively and use my skills to assist others within team work projects to the best of my ability.
