About me

My name is Anna Deery and I come from an interior architecture and design background with years of interior design experience and I would love to apply for the Interior Designer position in London. I am currently employed as a creative designer at Practical Minds Ltd, a project management company who specialise in commercial and retail design. Working as a creative designer has given me huge responsibilities and I have been able to design and create retail solutions for established clients within the industry, taking projects from the initial concept stage through to completion. I have had the opportunity to work on projects for commercial clients on the high street, in airports/travel industries and department stores across the UK and internationally including, Swiss Post, BBC, Nike, Farrell, Diesel, Umami Delicatessen, Wenzel's The Baker, Farah, SanDisk, Merlin Entertainments, House of Fraser & Debenhams to name a few. Whilst I was working towards a career in retail design, I worked within the retail industries, working for Arcadia Group Ltd in their Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Wallis stores in the UK and Ireland for over 7 years as well as numerous restaurants and cafes in Ireland. I have also worked for high end client Harrods in London in their interior design studio so I have experience within the luxury design field too. This experience has been invaluable; as it has given me retail expertise from the shop floor and I have a very clear, first hand understanding of the retail consumer world, branding and customer service. Previous to this, I worked as a junior architect and designer in New York and I was given the opportunity to get hands-on experience within residential, private residential, commercial/hotel and healthcare projects. With that, responsibility followed and I was able to design creative spaces as well as helping with the co-ordination of projects, enabling me to discover first-hand the translation of theory and how it develops into a 3D reality. I am always keeping up to date with retail trends and consumer behaviour. Having worked with technology companies, I am also in tune with the competitive and ever changing digital technology industry too. I would love to expand on my creative ability with your client because I believe that by working collaboratively, we can strategically aim to deliver quality and innovation through designing exciting spaces and experiences that have the user at the heart of it all whilst adapting to the market. I am a very creative, hardworking and determined individual who thrives on new challenges. I am a conscientious person who works hard and pays attention to detail. I am very independent person and I love working in fast paced environments; above all of that, I am a team player and passionate about all things design!
