About me

Dear Sir or Madam:

Please find enclosed my CV in application for the position advertised.

Within my current job at Koko Couture which is an online fashion retailer, I have gained a lot of experience in retouching model shots and campaign shots, creating online and magazine adverts (Look InStyle and The Salon magazine) and designing the appearance of the website. We are a small team so I have gained experience in other areas of e-commerce as well. I have been to meetings involving PR, branding and web development, I have worked on location photography and video shoots and I have learnt a lot of other aspects of how the business works.

With my practise of Graphic Design I have skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, This software is used daily, designing and creating visual graphics working with the Koko Couture's graphical style to produce website layouts, adverts and a catalogue of model shots for the upcoming brand. I have also been part of the social media team where I have developed marketing strategies, and found content that can enforce our brand Koko Couture, I regulate the social media channels by using the scheduler, Hootsuite.

The nature of my degree course has prepared me for this position. It involved a great deal of trend research, design development, self-learning and a wide range of CAD skills. I have taken part in some live briefs at my university for clients, which include, 10 Associates, TigerPrint and Fred Aldous. I presented my mood boards, mock-ups and final pieces to the clients and gained feedback on the designs and how they would be developed for the brand. With this experience I gained a further understanding of the industry, which was an essential part of my professional development.

I focussed a lot within my degree on branding. After I completed my degree I took on the position as brand developer at the company, Mix-d: which aimed to release a new hair care range specifically formulated for mixed race hair. My responsibilities included market reports, brand research, brand positioning and designing an initial packaging range.

As part of my degree I was required to complete a business module, which included a business plan of one of my design briefs. I looked into trends manufacturing, social media and marketing. This has taught me how to talk to manufactures and business about my business plan on a professional level.

As I am a experienced design graduate, with a keen eye for current trends I should be very grateful for the opportunity work within your company. I have the enthusiasm and determination to ensure that I make a success of it.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this application and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Yours sincerely,

Sunnie Swinburn
