About me

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fashion Design from The National College of Art & Design, (Dublin in May 2008). During my degree, I worked on a complete menswear collection inspired by 19th century Military outfits. The collection is a combination of 19th century and modern styles. It is edgy and structured, with classic tailoring details. After I finished my degree, I was offered a job to work as a menswear designer for John Rocha in June 2008 where I work to the present day.

My role as Assistant to John Rocha, was designing 'Ready To Wear' for London Fashion Week. This entailed designing full outfits for both men's and women's with great attention to detail, from research and development on concept/silhouette to pattern development, fabric selection, sewing mock ups, monitor garments sampling and production. Once at London Fashion week part of my job involved selecting models at castings, fitted garments, making alterations and production-fittings.

I'm proficient in Adobe Photoshop, which I use to produce technical drawings to be used in our collection-selling book, in conjunction with Adobe illustrator and InDesign to be shown to clients and factories, with prepared specification and costing sheets for production. I also use Adobe Photoshop to edit London Fashion Week catwalk images, and created layouts to be used on our company website, and for press purposes, managed our official website and social medias.

I create collections based around themes with graphic prints, logos and clothing designs for both men and children's clothing for 'Rocha John Rocha' at Debenhams. Following themes and guidelines set by the client.

I have designed club cycling kits for my own club, Foyle Cycle Club, other local clubs such as 'North Pole CC', and 'Team Inishowen Gateway - Donegal Cycling Development'. Working to their guidelines and colour.

I'm a very tidy, organized person, outgoing with a keen interest in cycling and football. I'm currently based in Dublin, while planning to move back to my home city of Derry after my final 'London Fashion week' show. I'm ready for a new challenge in my design career.
