About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Emily Hung and I am writing to express my interest in the 'Junior 3D Brand Designer' position as advertised on your website.

I am currently a designer at a packaging design consultancy where I have worked on projects within a team as well as given the responsibilities to manage projects independently which have allowed me to oversee a pack's journey from idea generation and implementation to production. Working with machine manufacturers, suppliers, marketing and R&D teams have furthered my understanding and consideration to the constraints throughout supply chains. Aside from packaging briefs, I have also had the opportunity to work on product and industrial design projects where devices were required for a pack to work well.

I have experience with meeting clients where I have been required to travel around the UK and overseas to meet client, suppliers and to visit manufacturing sites. Building relationships and managing expectations of clients is a valuable skill I've gained which has further improved my communication methods.

I have a BA Hons degree in Product and Furniture Design from Kingston University and am currently on a course for a Diploma in Packaging Technology in my own time to broaden and further my knowledge. I am always keen and willing to learn new skills and extend my understanding. I picked up the use of Solid Works quickly from Kingston University and believe that my knowledge and flexibility in 2D and 3D software allows me to transfer my skills to learning new software required to facilitate for areas such as programming and rendering.

I have taken many opportunities in internships and freelance work in order to build a better understanding of the creative industry. My experience in different industries and exposure to a vast array of technology and materials gives me the flexibility to problem solve from different perspectives. My approach in designing packaging, product, production and systems is considerate and challenges conventional methods.
