Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing to you in regards to the Editor position at Premier Media, I have a BA (Hons) in English Language and Communication with a 2:1 classification and have good experience within journalism. This role is a perfect fit for me. I am creative individual with a lot of experience in editorial positions. Above all else I will bring my passion and determination into this role. You have to be passionate about what you do to ideally be great at your job and my determination is the driving force behind my effort. I take on every challenge head on to accomplish my goals.

My most recent experience was working as an editorial assistant at Citywealth. Here I managed the monthly production process of the Citywealth newsletter that was published in a PDF format on the website. I conducted interviews and compiled features around the wealth management industry. I sub-edited copy for spelling and grammatical errors before it went to the production team and in addition I posted articles on the Citywealth Twitter and Facebook pages.

In 2014 I was working as a Medicine Counter Assistant at Tesco's Pharmacy. I completed the Medicine Counter Assistant course with the General Pharmaceutical Council and worked in a milestones store, learning about all over-the-counter and prescription medication. In addition to this I learned how to dispense medication and perform heath checks on patients. I have a keen interest in medicine and I know that I'd learn a great deal more at Premier.

In January 2013, I was fortunate to gain international editorial experience with The New Indian Express Newspaper in Bangalore, India. I worked here for two months and gained valuable global perspective within journalism. As well as learning the process of how a daily newspaper operates, my role involved interviewing and producing content for a mass audience about a variety of subject including fashion, lifestyle, business and society. This internship gave me the chance to immerse myself within a different culture and understand how different journalism is in another environment.

I have a good understanding of SEO and web analytics from my experiences including my role as an architectural writer where I used WordPress to compile features. My positive attitude towards work and drive for excellence makes me stand out. I am a highly organised individual who works well under pressure. I have well-rounded communication skills and hold good relationships with clients. I also have basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and I am willing to learn Reference Manager software.
