About me

To Human Resources,

Production has always been a key part of my life and it's something that I have always taken seriously. When I was in school I realized I loved production work and being creative. At the age of 15 I successful pitched a idea for a fashion show and gained financial support from the Princes Trust and John Lewis to supply the clothing and beauty. The event was completed in just 25% of the budget. Which led to my school asking me to organize shows for them over the next 12 months.

To fulfill my ambition I did a degree in Video Arts Production (BA Hon's) where I developed my own creative practice while also gaining a strong grounding in technical skills such as Camera Operations, Lighting, Sound recording, Post-production in video and film such as Final Cut Pro.

While I was at University I was approached to become one of the founding members of an organization called Bite the Ballot, aiming to educate young people about politics and encourage them to vote. My initial role in it was to connect our movement with other organizations such as the, the Houses of Parliament, European Parliament and the Prime Minister's office. During this time I held the responsibility for all media output including promotional videos, interviews and social networking campaigns. The greatest achievement was the successful pitching my own pilot TV Show that was backed by Maidstone Studios, the UK's Largest Independent TV Studio. Bite the Ballot led to me working with Google, Channel Flip, Virgin, Youtube, Rock the Vote, Houses of Parliament, Liberal Democrats, BBC, LBC, Labour Party, Conservative Party, Spirit of London Awards, Hansard Society and Talent House to name a few.

I have worked with multiple productions companies and have directed and produced many projects such as The Making of Safelight 19, a pilot TV series.

With over eight years of production involvement under my belt I have played many roles to make a project work.

Before I was made redundant due to company cut back In October 2014, I have been working at Deluxe Digital as an Account Manager focused on the Paramount Pictures account. I was responsible for project managing the foreign versioning, mastering and distribution of all Paramount Picture trailers for cinematic release and online broadcast across EMEA. I have developed experience in working with other production teams and departments, internal and external, ensuring that all materials are logged correctly, flagging any errors that may occur, as well as ensuring deadlines are met.

I have a lot drive and determination and feel this role would be a great opportunity for me to learn from the most diverse teams.

Yours sincerely,

Benjamin Pook
