THE OVERVIEW

We created a sports-themed internal event for 2,000 of Three’s staff from all areas of the business to create confidence and support for the company’s pledge to significantly grow the company by 2021. The event created a buzz across the company and 88% of staff they said they felt excited about Three’s future.

THE WORK
Our client Three wanted to expand its yearly internal business direction and strategy conference, which historically was exclusively for the sales team. This year Three wanted to address a wider range of staff and had invited 2,000 employees from all areas of the business, from senior staff to new starters.

We themed the event around a match-day sports celebration. Bring it on!

There was Surprise & Delight entertainment all day. We had dedicated cheerleaders doing bespoke routines. They also created elaborate stage entrances for senior staff – recreating the feeling of star players being introduced in the keynote.

Delegates were split into six teams. The teams were designed to move people out of their departments and get them working together with staff from different areas of the business. Identified with coloured lanyards, matching seating areas, and coloured drapes from the ceilings marked out their team zones.

The teams could score points in three interactive games. Live scores were displayed throughout the show to build a sense of excitement at different intervals. Basketball hoops, to compete and score the most baskets, a test of how hard they could kick a ball, and a Cyclone, a special enclosed booth where giant fans blew tickets for players to catch for points.

Communicating the company’s message in a way that met the objective of energising staff and filling them with confidence about the plans ahead was vital. The show kicked off with a powerful hype film shown on two gigantic arena-style projection screens. It celebrated Three’s history and highlighted just how many times the company has achieved significant industry firsts. Everything from the storyboard to original soundtrack and animation was designed to create a buzz in the audience.

We designed the look and feel of the content and space to ensure every single statement made on stage felt like a rallying cry for all involved, showing it was a united effort, inclusive of everyone there.

Once the day was over we had two hours to turn the interactive arena into post-match party venue. Hosting a live band and a DJ who made a surprise entrance.
