To whom it may concern
The role you have described in your advertisement could not suit me more. It would be the culmination of a dual career path I have pursued over the last ten years!
Having been a Montreal-based studio photographer for several years working with modelling agencies such as Next, Montage, Folio and Scoop, I feel I have gained enough practical experience to work in a supervisory role within a studio environment. I am well versed in dealing with photographers, models, stylist's makeup artists and talent. On an artistic level my work with Nightlife, The Voir and Snap magazines demonstrates my eye and judgement (samples available for viewing). I am fully competent and practised in the photographic process from shoot to re-touching to delivery.
Furthermore, for the last three years I have worked in a management capacity for Crow TV, a London-based television post-production company where I was responsible for client services within the editing and sound studios. Within this role I was solely responsible for the studio budget, sourcing and providing any additional equipment needed for the studios. I have supervised a team of ten staff in varying roles from Editors to Runners in sometimes hectic conditions with programmes up against transmission.
Over the last ten years I feel I have achieved balance of skills you are looking for in this role - an in depth knowledge of photography and photographic methods with an ability to supervise and organise a large team to reach an end goal. I would very much welcome the opportunity to explore this further with your company.
Best wishes,
Ollie Smith
