About me
I'm James Halliday, a Designer/Illustrator fueled by curiosity and passion. I've been working in the design industry for a little over 7 years now. Since graduating in 2013 from Havering College F&HE, I started my professional career in Central London. Where I assisted two designers on various campaigns for NBCUniversal at their London Headquarters. I supported the team by producing both online and print content, to promote their new shows across the various channels that they own around the world. I then went on to work on various other projects, before being given the great opportunity to be a junior designer at a branding agency just outside London. I've gone on to work for a wide range of clients, across different sectors and industries, for an agency that has allowed me to develop and grow as a professional.
Whilst working on client work, I also develop my own side projects that allow me to explore new and exciting techniques that I can apply to my work. I love doing side projects, as they give me an opportunity to expand my skills and produce artwork that I have an interest in or passion for. Some of these projects include; a lettering project that consists of a series of drop caps that reflects the theme of a book, a set of posters based on the rosters from teams in the National Football League, and a group of illustrations that showcases characters from classic British sitcoms. For me, Design is more than a career, it's my passion.
In my spare time when I'm not working on client or side projects, I like to spend my time with my eight-year-old Pug, Rocky, who I rescued with my partner four years ago and now spoil rotten. You can also find me watching American Football, especially the Sunday night games relaxing before the start of a new week.
