About me

I am an experienced editor and editorial director, with project management experience overseeing large-scale reference and data projects, with recent experience in news and current affairs. I have played a key role in formulating a new online strategy for my current employer, leading to the launch of an updated subscription service with innovative "Web 2.0" features. I oversaw the conversion of some 100,000 files to XML, establishing editorial policies and styles and training and motivating in-house and freelance content creation and data cleansing teams, including editors, information architects, web developers, designers, writers, researchers, and proofreaders. I am a creative and strategic thinker who enjoys problem solving and managing projects within strict budgets and to immovable deadlines. I also have experience of sales, marketing and customer services, and have attended prestigious international trade shows and given sales presentations to government departments. I received a thorough training in editorial and production processes - print, multimedia, and online - working on some of the UK's best known dictionaries and encyclopedias, including the Collins English Dictionary, the Hutchinson Encyclopedia, and the Macmillan Encyclopedia. I am able to relocate to London.
