About me

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am applying for the position of a junior designer as advertised. I have a wide range of work experience, which I can draw from to meet the challenges of this role. Moreover, I have a proactive and determined attitude, which I feel, will be crucial to my success in this role.

I am a RIBA Part II qualified architect who excels in challenging situations. I very much enjoy being involved in the developmental stages of the design process. Most recently I worked on a short project with William Matthews Associates for a residential home in Lome (Togo) for a private client. As an independent professional I take pride in my capacity to grasp elaborate concepts quickly and, in turn, to provide suitable design solutions whilst under pressure. My previous experience includes working on the redesign of several concept stores of a large multi-national retail group and working on the property portfolio for a boutique banking and software company.

I have attached my CV and a portion of my final year portfolio. My thesis discussed the concept of repurposing the landscape that leads to a Crematorium cemetery in the Wiltshire region, to accommodate the lack of burial sites in London. I attained a merit in design for this project and was shortlisted to exhibit at Scott Brownrigg's architect's studio. A wider selection of my creative work can be viewed on my website: .

I work in a variety of media, merging the efficiency of Computer-Aided Design with the textural quality of hand-drawings and Photoshop. With an eye for detail, deft model making and photography skills, I explore design through three-dimensional forms and photography. An interest in the crossover between art and architecture drives me to achieve artistic effects in my presentation drawings. I am also proficient in AutoCad (2D & 3D), Vectorworks (2D), SketchUP (3D), Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.
