Bomper was approached by REACT Studios to build the key asset for their NordMende Waterbox print campaign. REACT provided us with design and direction, and we then developed their initial concept into a final, polished visual. The image is 100% CG, built in Cinema4D.

As we were unable to source any reference images of a solid cube of water, much of the early work went into establishing the basic look of the cube, making sure that it looked and acted like water, and not jelly, ice or glass. Our artists then worked tirelessly to perfect the details of the liquid -- tweaking the splashes, refraction, bubbles and surface tension -- in order to clearly translate the image's message while maintaining a sense of realism.

The visual was fully built in Cinema4D R16, and mostly rendered with the native renderer, with V-Ray being used for some of the objects inside the cube. Final compositing and retouching was carried out in Photoshop CC.
