Dear Sir/Madam,

I am applying for the role of Senior Graphic Designer / Junior Art Director as advertised on creativepool

I am a Senior Designer / Art Director with over 15 years of experience taking, primarily print, design jobs through from brief to final delivery both independently and leading a team.

I have been working as a freelance designer for almost a year now having previously worked at Cartoon Network for 13 years. When I began at Cartoon Network there was the feeling of a start-up - a small team, creative freedom, having fun doing it and a willingness to go with fresh, off the wall ideas - overall an amazing creative buzz which gradually got squeezed out as the company became larger and more corporate. I've been searching for that buzz and excitement ever since and this sounds like a fantastic and intriguing opportunity to be part of, and even grow, that kind of environment again.

I enjoy working as part of a team, sparking ideas with others, as well as leading and mentoring more junior designers. I hope to excite and inspire others with my own passion for design and the drive to create something unexpected and unique. By giving something a fresh, interesting and unique twist I feel that it adds value and a stronger personal connection to the overall product/result (whilst also, selfishly, giving me a lot more enjoyment and engagement in what I'm working on and ultimately more personal satisfaction and pride in the end result). This unique result usually comes from a solid conceptual approach to a job.

I still have that enthusiasm, drive and hunger to develop new ideas, but am now far more experienced, confident and knowledgable about how I can put those qualities and skills to use in helping to shape the direction of a company.
