ABOUT
D&AD’s inaugural judging festival was 3 days of out and out creativity. Shoreditch’s Truman Brewery was rammed with pencil-winning work and the industry’s biggest names. And just up the road we ran a clinic to help creatives stay excited, inspired and young at heart.
As we turn 30 this year, our event – Who are you calling old blood? – was a response to people who think new always means better. We created a gory identity that showcased the things that are ‘vital’ to any creative – like ideas and passion. And we themed our workshop in the same way: a gut-themed exercise got people to pitch a shit product to a room of strangers; a lung-themed activity asked people to breathe new life into an old object.
It was a great couple of hours and people really got stuck in. Key takeouts? Creativity takes courage and you’re never too old to be young at heart.
