Activate Learning recently announced Guildford College, Merrist Wood and Farnham College have joined Activate Learning education group. To help create awareness of what each college offers, and to drive student engagement around the open events in February, we created a campaign focused at 14-16 year-olds. Based on the insight that the target audience (Generation Z) spend an average of 4hrs 15 on their smartphone a day, we delivered a strong visual mechanism they are all familiar with. We have been able to engage in conversation using chat and lock screen notifications promoting the unique differences of each college.

The campaign ran across outdoor, radio, social media and local press. Results so far have been positive with 140 attendees at the Guildford College Open Day in February, 30 signed up on the day (which surpassed expectations as a conversion rate) and Merrist Wood is over subscribed for their September intake.
