Webb deVlam London

ABOUT

Vanguard music capture experts Sonoma tasked Webb deVlam with creating a brand identity and packaging for their revolutionary audiophile headphones. Sonoma had engineered their renowned audio technology into an electrostatic headphone, where all that separates the listener and perfect studio sound is a wafer-thin laminate, enabling them to hear the finest touch of sound, such as an artists breath. This prestige form of sound quality aims to meet the desires of those seeking sound nirvana and total auditory pleasure.

Webb deVlam crafted Sonoma's visual identity and rolled it out across multiple platforms, including bespoke structural packaging, printed literature and website. Having worked for premium clients on a number of occasions, the design team utilised transferrable prestige knowledge to create visuals that could evoke the supreme quality of Sonoma's audio technology.

Webb deVlam London's Head of Design, JP Hunter, describes the project as follows: "What's going to excite people is the technology in these headphones, which allows you to totally appreciate Sonoma's capture of music. The design derives from the way the headphones create a perfect reflection; both in how the technology mirrors original studio sound and how this audio experience causes the listener to pause, and reflect. You may recognise that the original symbol in the Sonoma logo is a fermata, the musical note for a pause."
