About me

My name is Jamie Thomson or as most people tend to call me Jay.

I moved to England from Scotland around 8 years ago and was amazed at all the new challenges I was presented with in the schools in England that you just don't get up in Scotland such as creative media. I fell in love with creative media immediately and loved every aspect of photoshop and video editing, It became less of a subject and more of a passion for myself. After high school I took it to new lengths and went to college where I greatly improved my skills and learned valuable new ones such as website design.

Creative media is no longer just a subject I was taught in school it has become a huge portion of my life, Daily I like to sit with ideas for my next music video or I will look up designer websites to gain ideas to what make these sites so appealing to the consumer. I love the research portion as it really gives you the drive for a business that only succeeds with passion behind it. I feel I have this passion and would love to find the right employer who challenges me enough to make a difference in the world.

Skills

I am an adept user of most of Adobes creative products in the master suite, I mostly use dreamweaver, premier pro, after effects and photoshop., I am skilled at maintaining desktop and laptop computers to keep them running smoothly during the creative proccess, Alot of the time PC hardware starts to burn out when it is overly used espicially with the software that I mentioned so knowing how to keep it working is always an advantage during a project., Keen eye for detail. I love doing market research to gain ideas for any project that may come my way., I can touch type very easily and on average can type 67 words per minute., I am a team player, I like to be part of a group as its a fantastic way to learn but also to experiance the styles of others in your field., I love working to deadlines as it gives you a real major goal to work towards.

Sector Experience

Alot of my work is freelance., I have gained alot of photoshop and video editing experiance by working with a rock band in my local area, I film all their shows and also design there leaflets for concerts that they put on. I advertise them through facebook and youtube and with my help they have managed to gain over 600 followers within there 2 years of playing. links can be provided on request., I have worked on a project with the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme in which I and a team of 8 others went to diffirent sites to film C grade celebrities talking about the foundation and what it could do for the youth of the world. I helped piece this together and it was actually aired at Duke of Edinburgh conference., I gained many skills of website design during a brief work experiance with a company called I2I Technologies. With my time here I helped maintain several of the website domains they owned.
